TLCC Ministry News – July 2021
Dear Friends in Christ,
Thank you to everyone who have been partnering with the TLCC and have been enduring in praying for the TLCC’s ministries.
It has been almost into a half of the year since my last update of TLCC’s ministries. There are so many things that have been going on through the blessing and guidance of our Lord.
1. Church Planting among Thais in the Northeast Region.
Currently, there are 426 believers altogether through this church planting project. These believers are from 1 self-supporting church, 4 house churches and 14 church planting groups.
We believe that by the end of this year, there will be at least 500 believers altogether. The construction at the discipleship training has started in 2019.
We have constructed 3 buildings, a multipurpose building, a dinning hall and a faculty apartment. We almost completed the facilities.
Just two things that we need to build more are a place for drying clothes (clothes line) and a pool for giving baptism. We have also started the second discipleship training.
There were 20 participants and we did the first training last month. At Least two small churches are building a church building by using what they have in their own area.
2. Berea Bible Institute (BBI)
At Berea Bible Institute (School), there are 43 students altogether in this school year. 27of them are first year students.
The first Semester of the school year started at the middle of June and they were here for just 4 weeks and then we had to close the school due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (covid19).
We are hoping to be able to reopen the school on the 1st of August 2021.
We have also started a Bible study course online for 5 Lahu couples in the States. They will study 10 subjects in 10 months. The course is in the early morning from Tuesday through Friday, 3 hours per day and 4 days a week. They have to spend 1 months on a subject.
We have submitted a proposal to the theological board of CCT to be approved as a bible school under CCT. As a preparation process for accreditation, we just bought four sets of tables and chairs for the library.
3. Harvest Home
There are 37 children at Harvest Home (HH) in this school year. Our staff at HH are really working hard in taking care of all the kids. The children stay at home and study online.
The Thai government has a policy to let everyone practice social distance by letting them stay home and learn online.
4. Transition of Staff in Berea Bible Institute
We have some transition of staff in the office. Nathasit is on probation as the director of Berea Bible Institute for 6 months. This month is the third month for his probation. He is great for the job.
We have a new staff member as an office secretary who is responsible for finance while Wanjida is taking care of accounting.
My daughter, Namfon is also helping as a volunteer for the Rural Care foundation office.
I have started studying a DMin. Program at Bangkok Bible Seminary. As I have not learned for so long, I am feeling that it is quite challenging studying again at my age close to 60.
The program is approved by the worldwide bible association. Please continue praying for me so that I will be able to finish the study.
